reportfluxly.net is a documentary project built around a simple idea: that the ordinary streets of Canadian cities and towns are worth looking at closely.
Why we started
Canada is often photographed for its landscapes — mountains, coastlines, and forests — while the daily life of its neighborhoods goes largely undocumented. reportfluxly.net began as an attempt to fill that gap: a growing archive of street-level observation from cities, suburbs, and small towns across the country.
Every entry on this site starts with time spent walking a neighborhood, not driving through it. That pace changes what you notice — the rhythm of a corner store, the way light falls on a row of porches, the small rituals that make a block feel like home.
We are not a news outlet and we do not chase headlines. Instead, we look for the everyday moments that rarely make it into any publication at all: a shared bench, a hand-painted sign, a quiet Tuesday morning.
Contributors to reportfluxly.net include independent street photographers and writers based in communities across Canada.
